Problemas al reproducir videos en 1080P con Nvidia
Buenas,
Mi ordenador es un core2duo 6300, con 2gigas de ram y como tarjeta gráfica una Nvidia 7600GS, más que suficiente para reproducir video en esta definición pero desde que formatee semana pasada no consigo reproducir estos videos de forma fluida.
Los drivers de nvidia siempre me he bajado los propietarios y tengo activado la aceleración gráfica, si ejecuto glxgears el resultado obtenido varia entre 5000 y 5500. En windows puedo reproducir estos videos por lo tanto no es un fallo de hw.
Por otra parte he probado varias configuraciones con el xine y vlc y no consigo arreglar el problema asi que no creo que sea por una mala configuración de mis reproductores. Así que imagino que el único fallo estará en la configuración de la tarjeta de video.
He estado mirando a ver si era un problema de la última versión de los drivers de nvidia pero no he conseguido encontrar nada al respecto ya que por más que busco es la única diferencia que tengo desde que reinstale el sistema. He probado activar y desactivar varios modulos, extensiones en el xorg y no he solucionado el problema.
Ahora mismo estoy probando con el xorg por defecto que te propone el instalador de nvidia y os lo dejo a continuación a ver si el fallo seria tan simple como una propiedad que ya no deberia de estar:

Estan prohibidos los UP's, como puedes observar en las Normas del Foro.
Si nadie te ha respondido es o porque no se tiene alguna solución y porque al final esto no es un servicio técnico y no se esta obligando a nadie a responder.
¿Has revisado los logs de tu serverX?
Si lo corres desde consola con un programa tipo mplayer, ¿que salida te manda?

Lo siento de verás no volvere a producirse, estaba un poco deprimido tras estar peleandome durante 3 dias con este problema.
Acabo de revisar el fichero /var/log/Xorg.0.log y no hay nada sobre un problema con la aceleración, si os hace falta os hago un copy-paste.
Acabo de bajarme los drivers beta que publico ayer Nvidia y tras instalarlos no noto ninguna mejoria.
Por ultimo me gustaria probar tu solucion pero nunca he intentado reproducir sin las X y no se como especificar al mplayer que arranque las X solo para el. Estoy mirando las opciones del display pero por lo que veo ya hace falta tener un escritorio funcionando. Si podrias decirme como probarlo te lo agradeceria mucho.

Mmmm bueno quizás me malinterpreté, lo que quiero decir que desde un emulador de terminal mandes llamar al mplayer con el vídeo que quieras ver.
La salida posteala (entre el bloque CODE) y así observaremos los detalles.

Los videos te abren y se ven lentos o no abre ningun video?
Lo que quería decirte NataShell que abras una consola virtual (terminal de gnome) he invoques por ejemplo con mplayer el video que quieres ver y pegues la salida de la terminal en etiquetas code, asi vemos si es problema o del reproductor o quiza de codecs, ya que descartaría la aceleración porque haz dicho que funciona sin problemas.

Con el paso del tiempo y el incremento de conocimiento, más comprendo lo que me falta aún aprender. Qué tarde me resulta haberme dado cuenta de ello, malvado el tiempo que no discrimina absolutamente nada ni nadie.
Bien acabo de probar varias configuraciones y sigue igual, cosa que me parece normal ya que si hasta el propio vlc me funcionaba antes con la configuración por defecto y ahora no.

Hola, voy a intentar dar unas posibles ideas, pero no estoy muy seguro, sino algo es algo.
Dices que foormateaste hace poco, una pregunta: ¿ Que rama usas ?
Digo, por que a partir de lenny, se usa una nueva implementacion de Xorg y a veces da las cosas por "supuestas", pero a veces falla.
Aviso, por que veo que en tu xorg.conf hay una parte que dice:
Load "glx"Bien eso en otras placas es valido, pero creo recordar que en nvidia existe una cosa que creo que se llamaba: AIGLX.
Este AIGLX reemplazaba a glx, siendo ademas mas rapido. ( no recuerdo si es del todo correcto esto, acepto criticas por parte de los demas )
Te cuento, que un amigo tiene un ubuntu y tambien una placa nvidia y usando aiglx, se persibia un notable reendimiento.
Un sano consejo ( no soy el unico que lo dice :)
Por favor, usa mplayer, olvidate del vlc y xine.

Es aiglx es un extension nueva, a lo que sustituye es a la xgl original de novell basicamente es utilizar la aceleración 3d por hardware para construir el escritorio (vamos, lo que utiliza compiz).
No estoy muy seguro y lo he dicho de memoria, pero en mi nvidia tengo cargado glx y activado aiglx (según el log, claro)
Además aiglx es una característica más del xorg y lo soportan casi todos los driver ya.

PD: En cuanto al problema, ¿podría ser cosa de overlay?, recuerdo haber tenido problemas de lentitud reproduciendo divx y solucionarlo con el overlay.
